Warwickshire Family Support

Join us for supportive and informative sessions designed to help parents and carers better understand two of the most important areas in Autism and ADHD: Executive Functioning and Sensory Processing.

These areas often explain the day-to-day struggles children experience — difficulties with focus, organisation, emotional regulation, transitions, behaviour, overwhelm, and how they interact with their environment. When we understand why these challenges happen, we can respond in ways that reduce stress and truly support their needs.

What We’ll Cover

✔ Executive Functioning
We’ll explore the brain skills that help with planning, remembering, staying focused, managing emotions, completing tasks, and coping with change. Many autistic and ADHD children struggle here, not because they won’t — but because they can’t yet.
Understanding these skills helps families know what support is realistic, appropriate, and effective.

✔ Sensory Processing
We’ll look at how the brain receives and interprets sensory information — sounds, touch, movement, light, smell, and more.

Sensory seeking, sensory avoidance, and sensory overload can all impact behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
When parents understand their child’s sensory profile, everyday life becomes easier to navigate.

Why This Session Matters

Executive functioning and sensory processing are two of the biggest factors shaping a child’s behaviour, learning, and emotional responses. When we understand them, we can:

  • Support children more confidently

  • Reduce stress and overwhelm

  • Create environments that help them succeed

  • Improve family relationships

  • Advocate effectively with schools and services

This session is friendly, practical, and designed to give you knowledge you can use immediately.

If you support autistic or ADHD children — diagnosed or undiagnosed — this workshop will help you understand their needs on a deeper level.
