Executive Functioning Skills in SEND, Autism and ADHD: Free Online Support Session

ONLINE

Understand how executive functioning skills impact daily life for children and young people with SEND, Autism and ADHD.

Executive functioning skills are the brain-based skills we use every single day to get through life successfully.

These skills help us to:

  • organise and prioritise

  • manage emotions

  • start and finish tasks

  • remember instructions

  • manage time

  • stay focused

  • adapt to change

  • think flexibly

  • control impulses

When these skills are struggling, everyday life can become overwhelming for children, young people, and families.

This workshop is designed to help parents, carers, and professionals better understand:

  • what executive functioning skills are

  • how difficulties can present in real life

  • why behaviour is often misunderstood

  • the connection between executive functioning, Autism and ADHD

  • practical ways to support children and young people

The session is neurodiversity affirming and focuses on understanding the “why” behind behaviours, rather than simply managing behaviours on the surface.

The workshop will include relatable real-life examples and practical strategies that families can begin using straight away.

Suitable for:

  • Parents and carers

  • Professionals working with children and young people

  • Anyone wanting to better understand executive functioning difficulties in SEND
