Executive Functioning Skills

  • The Autism & ADHD Advocates CIC coventry (map)

Our Executive Functioning Skills session is designed to help parents and carers understand the skills children use every day to manage themselves, complete tasks and cope with demands.

We will look at key areas including inhibitory control, working memory and flexible thinking, and explore how difficulties in these areas can affect behaviour, learning, emotional regulation and everyday routines.

The session will help families recognise what may be happening when a child struggles to wait, remember instructions, move between tasks, cope with changes or stop and think before acting.

The focus is on understanding the skill behind the behaviour and identifying what support a child may need to become more confident and independent.
